A large public plaza in a dense commercial district, paved in calibrated stone with black granite framed skylights set flush into the surface.
Fabrication process
Paving was calibrated for thickness and squareness and set out to the plaza grid, with granite skylight frames fabricated to tight tolerances so glass units seated flush with the walking surface.
Challenges
A busy district demanded fast, right-first-time installation with consistent joints across a very large area and flush, trip-free skylight details.
Solution
Components were numbered to a set-out drawing and inspected before shipment, so the site team laid to a plan rather than cutting on location.
Outcome
A flush, uniform plaza surface with crisp skylight details and minimal on-site cutting.
